Meeru first decide cheyyalsindi which field you want to go, want to be technical or program management or Delivery management.
Adi decide chesina taruvata, since it is higher positions you will need to get some contacts and reference will make good impact than going thru consultants. Job sites are fine and even directly companies if they advertise is fine. For entry level positions consultants are fine, but I give them least preference.
With your network you might have already established look for new positions that suit you.
Always remember not to hurry in desperation of leaving from current job. You need to analyze to-be position, growth, salary, stability, perks( bonus+shares+etc) and per year salary growth in new job. Compare these 6 factors while making decision. If atleast 3-4 factors that you weigh more are achieved in new position change it. Else wait..

pay packages vary depending on the location. I don't think Bonus, RSUs and Options are that common in Ontario. Of course I am talking with 10 years ago knowledge. I used to get a small bonus along with base pay, health benefits and vacation days when I worked in ON.
Meeru IT kabatti naaku pedda idea ledu. But in general, if you are into the management, you should be at least inquiring about bonus (short term incentive), RSUs and /or Stock options (long term incentive) in your next job (interviews).
So far in Canada I never used head hunters. All offers I got in the last 10 years or so were based on direct applications to the companies. using a good head hunter is not a bad idea but finding a good one is not that easy emo anukuntanna.
Applying through a reference (existing employee) would help, at least your resume goes to the right people instead of HR.

Hello Brothers ....
Campus recruitment tharuvatha, had been married to this job for a long time. Had been strongly considering a change. As I never had the experience of finding a new job, elaa proceed avvalo theliyadam ledhu. Please share your suggestions on the following :
(1) Shall I search through job sites or approach recruiting consultants
(2) How do I know what am worth, what I can expect as a salary? For sure I am underpaid in my current job
(3) What are the other benefits to ask/look for. I prefer to do FTE
Nenu undedhi Canada lo and will stay here for next 4 years at least. I might have an option to work even in USA by end of this year.
PS - am jack of all trades as I had been with a consulting company for a very long time. Finding a Job role/title is also a big question in my mind lol.
