Andhrajamesbond:I sold MU for loss in 2 days..But, entered LOGI on Friday.
MU i was bearish from day1, when it was at ~30.
LOGI, the reasoning was that the long term trend is nicely Bullish, and every correction got bought. Insider trading details ippude chustunanu, that is bad.
For your size of trading, you could wait to see couple of days ( this week ) and take a call. My hunch is 35 level should hold. Lets see..

I just looked into all insider activity of that company. In the last 12 months, there are ZERO buys and total selling was little over $32M worth stock. CEO sold about $4M worth stock, CFO over $3M, officer level people about $21M and direcors around $4.5M. Not a great sign.

insider selling is not a great indication but these sell orders must be placed long time ago, pre-set at a price. Legally they cannot dump wherever they want. Sometimes people sell when they are close to retirement or to diversify their portfolio. Some people in executive leadership team only maintain minimum required position. I am still not convinced at adding this on 27-28 area, it should come to test 26 is what i think. There was someone else in the DB to buy this near 29, have been bearish on this since day 1. Ante ippatiki that person lost almost 6% on this. If playing options, its even worse.
let me give another data point i see. NSE/BSE lo atleast, market close time lo only Delivery trades allowed. And during market opening you see 9AM-9.15AM premarket is for MM and 9.15 to 10 atleast only overnight/investors are going to trade. Aa time lo volumes ekkuva untai, and it gives you sense of trend.
See MU first 30mins trade, Huge Sell with huge volumes. Then when it slowly recovered, volumes diminished. Slowly starts dipping, volm increases.
Hope i am making sense.

at 60 levels idi great buy, could probably reach there again.
DLF, HDIL, SBIN,ICICI,PNB,APOLLO TYre, Aurobindo Pharma.. ilantivi trade chese vadini. You could check and see if they fit your criterion.

I happened to come across STAG .. will check this sector as well..seems STAG is predominantly NY based so ee lekkana manam we can research and opick areawise REIT and invest in RE indirectly and have liquidity as well..
Loss ledhule edho jila anthe sold for profits only...did well with properties held for long term...konni flops lo could have lost money but market appreciation bailed me out.
Have to re-think REITs vs direct investments in real estate...direct investment lo we have more control over things. |

I never owned V, wanted to buy long time ago when it was around $50 (before stock split). But one of my friend discouraged me based on valuation. listening to him was a big mistake at that time. My purchase price would have been in $20s (accounting for split)..

Regular Trades are free. There is service called Robhinhood gold, where they charge $6(Not sure correct num) for each trade. You can do after hours trading and other benefits.
Am not into options, so don't know how it works for options.

Notice yesterdays candle on MU. And couple of preceeding ones. It sold off big bear candle on HIGH Volumes, seems like 10% more volumes than Avg. That to me is bearish.. wouldnt change my views that easily.

What I heard today from an analyst is it's very expensive on any metric. He is saying there is a company in China equivalent to SHOP and the ticker is BZUN? he says that is much cheaper than SHOP and have better upside. I don't know anything about either. but just based on numbers SHOP does look expensive and if you are in the gain why don't you take some off the table?

I am never against any company that makes good money. My problem all along with AMZN is they never made money consistently and looks very expensive on any metric. It's hard for me to value that stock. I may never be able to buy it but it is on my list.

XOM, ENB, COST, BBN anthe at this time.
apart from the above I have couple of mutual funds (couldn't avoid them, only way at work place). I put them in index funds geared toward US S&P500 (75%) and Emerging Markets (25%).
If there is a significant correction (which I believe will happen), I have a list of companies that am following. will list in the next post.

AMZN, COSTCO moved like it was part of pairs trade today. And yes as Kubang mentioned, always Scale in to your position. Especially big amounts..

Normally this is what I do for any stock once I complete my DD and made a decision to buy. I buy in thirds or halves i.e., if I want to invest 10k in one stock, I enter a third (~3.5k) first and keep adding either on the way up or down.
I normally buy stocks with good dividend pay out i.e., higher than 10 year bond yield. that means you are getting paid while you are waiting. COST do not have much regular dividend, it's only around 1.3% however recently they gave a special dividend, $7/share. They do that once in a while..

Stock Screeners, EOD prices toh need to setup APIs.Deeniki Nasdaq is exposing EOD prices migatavi kuda still searching.
Ivi rendu aite then i will write MachineLearning/Quant Algos that does forecasting.
So ivi cheyadaniki Aug is my deadline, hopefully i can open a brokerage and watever small amount i have, invest in my picks. Time padutundi but i can try to forecast next years top picks,god willing

I sold some around $169 but kept the other half and added little bit at $163. Got the special dividend in May ($7/share). My average cost on present holdings is around $149. regular dividend is only around 1.3% otherwise it's a no brainer to hold long term. I am going to hold it for at least another 6 months.

Agreed, I think someone with big pot like you should diversify. Put X,Y in Longterm,Short Term and be rule based, disciplined on this.
Agreed on COSTCO as well, margins will diminish. But our arguement was that it will be hard to wipe out the Stores. Anycase we care for the $ it makes, no senti with store as such.
Btw if you notice, AMZN COSTCO seem to be moving in tandem - LongShort as if someone is Pair Trading - do you see the same ? realtime overlap chart naku ekkada kudaratledu. I am staring at %ge change in Google finance..

Agreed. I think i am in a transition stage with my changing strategies. I got very good success with the kind of day trading strategy for the first half year.But, need to change a bit with my analysis and flexibility on the holding period.
About COST: I am not with this one anymore. yi stock yeppudu risk ye. worst online shopping experince yi roju ki kuda? aa retail business lo margins will come down in future with amazon's competition. so..i dont touch this one. |

konni sarlu analysts manipulate chestaru anipistundi naku. They can reco SELL after its down by 10% which triggers further selling. That to me, honestly, isnt a huge value add.
We discussed this last week, took sides and this has been down since then. So that look-fwd analysis is useful. Similarly Costco, Up this week and Amzn down.
