Pampering is the main reason for this generation kids and they struggle to look beyond happy pally instances . One of the main reasons for my R2I is for my kids to get exposed to all situations.Mingle with kids of all background , come out of this idea parents are take it for granted. Now my son is 11 years old ,and in India for the paast 2 years . Now he undestands what is to be grounded and crash from the posh cloud is a hard thud , but that pain taught him life lessons ..

very sorry to hear bro. Withouht a reason no one will go to that extreme. Was he not close to his parents I.e., couldn't discuss his personal issues, if any?
There is a huge difference between our generation and the present. We protect them so much and also provide everything even before they ask. This generation is not used to disappointments and can't face a defeat. We don't allow them to fail, that's the issue. We have to teach these kids that it's okay to fail sometimes and it's not the end of the world.
