$1 is called selector... so regex lo () madyalo unnavi anni $1 lo select chesi pedthadi....

find lo you selected everything to $1

if in replace.. you dont put $1.. then it will just delete the selected string

Ntr_rocks:

^("id" : ".*?")

If I use this expression in find/replace, it removed the Id lines in the file. It did not keep all the ids in the file.

My goal is to retrieve all the ids from the file just like in the examples shown here.

I don't want to use any programming language but get this done using TextPad/Notepad++ regex expression.

The following is perfectly working. But not for my case.

I have a text file with multiple snippets of the following.

{
"action" : "PUT",
"payload" : {
"Code" : "J0A1WSD1A",
"Advanced" : "true",
"id" : "S701qOIiIAMG0000001",
"title" : "Introduction to Robotics",
"tags" : [
"program/entry",
"program/advanced",
],
"start" : "2017-06-11T13:00:00.000Z",
"end" : "2017-07-28T21:00:00.000Z",
}
}

Any idea how I can extract the Id fields from the files using RegEx or any other technique.
