Western medicine is also an evolving science kadaa... Childhood asthma ki 5 doctors daggaraki velte (in US) 5 types lo same medicine use cheptaaru. India lo aithe everyone has their own theory.
Since english medicine has a leg up in exposure, funding, research, immediate relief and charm, it is way ahead among all medicinal practices. But if you take away bad doctors and snake oil salesman from Ayurveda and do some big time research there can be advancements that are life saving.
Would I go to ayurveda for infections and fevers? No western medicine gives immediate relief
Would I go to Ayurveda for life threatening diseases? No not unless it is proven.
But we use it everyday in the form of pasupu, miriyalu, honey etc without knowing their medicinal advantages |

Basically these days the problem is with the doctors and the herbs.

Never ever go to ayurveda for chronic diseases. Ayurveda is too hyped and it will not work. If you want, you can use few herbs on a daily basis to keep up some health. I am not sure even if that works or not , but atlease not a serious issue. |

Ayurveda is based on Pitta Vaata Kapha.. Any imbalance will be known from Naadi.. Typically any imbalance will have its own medicine based on the ratio.. Probably it might have, but not sure whether the herbs are available today to cure the cancers.
