//United States is the only country in the western world to have a per country quota for employment based permanent residence (green cards).

The 7% per country quota is making Indian H1-B visa holders to wait 15-20 years to obtain their green card. This is plain injustice in the name of diversity that United States should have naturalized citizens from every country in the world. //

>>However, USCIS has recently updated in the green card visa bulletin news that H1-b visa holders with Perm and I-140 can file their I-485 within 5-6 years of approval of Perm and I-140 and need not wait 15-20 years.

This will allow H1-B visa holders to change employers, accept promotions, get travel permits and travel without visa stamping within 5-6 years of starting their green card process.

EAD == I-485 aa?

United States is the only country in the western world to have a per country quota for employment based permanent residence (green cards).

The 7% per country quota is making Indian H1-B visa holders to wait 15-20 years to obtain their green card. This is plain injustice in the name of diversity that United States should have naturalized citizens from every country in the world.

Green Card process is divided into three stages Perm, I-140 and I-485. An Indian H1-B visa holder can file for Perm and I-140 immediately but has to wait 15-20 years to file for I-485 till now.

People get their green card usually in 1 year after filing their I-485. There are many advantages of filing I-485.

One can change employers after 6 months of filing I-485 without affecting their green card process. They can even move to higher positions like project manager or vice president. They only need to send the new employment offer letter to USCIS.

If your employer is not filing your green card or need to upgrade from EB3 to EB2 category this is the right time to find a new employer, do H1-B transfer and start the green card process. If you need help in this regard we request you to email your resumes to info@interfacesystemsinc.com.
