Right I agree with you, bottom line we have to do some self analysis and not blindly follow their advises.

say fool.com tells you to buy a stock today, and sell it in few months. you realize a profit/loss this year.

some services maintain their profit/loss record, and show it when asked for.

also remember, every service will have few good/bad months. few bad months vachayi ani vadni vadilesi, inko bad phase lo vunna vadni pattukunte kodoa double bokka. you gotta find the right service, which is a challenge.

here is the list of few best stocks I would look to invest when there is a correction. slowly keep adding over time and in the long run it will work out okay. by no means this list is complete..

COST, XOM, GOOG, AAPL, JNJ, ENB, BASF, AMZN, BUD, INDA, PG, BRK.B, TM, RB, NVS, NSRGY, HD, SIEGY, SNY, RHHBY, WMT, MCK, CVS, BA, POT, ADM, SYY, CNI, LMT, NOC, FFH

3 or 4 of the above are Canadian companies but they are big enough to be on the list.

Lost good amount of money last year in BABA and AAPL. Then in March this year, I subscribed for fool.com stock advisor. I bought AMZN and CMG when they re recommended and recovered most. If one follows David Gardener, you wouldnt go wrong. All I did when ever they suggest a stock I went for options on the same position. David Gardener suggested Match.com. I bought lot of calls but became timid and sold them after little profit. It went up almost 50% in valuation after he recommened.

They said close the Costco position to their subscribers. I looked at everything and thought it will correct atleast 10 bucks if the stock market comes down a bit. I bought the puts and closed the position very early for little profit.

I feel it isnt bad if we follow David Gardener recommendations.
