Very shortly, Hyderabad is going to witness two grand gala marriages: that of Akhil Akkineni, younger son of popular hero Akkineni Nagarjuna; and that of Swathi Nimmagadda, daughter of business tycoon Nimmagadda Prasad, popularly known as Matrix Prasad.
There are several curious points to know about these two marriages.
Let us see what they are:
1. Both Nagarjuna and Nimmagadda Prasad have been business partners for several years in Maa Television network.
2. Akhil is getting married to Shriya Bhupal, granddaughter of Hyderabad’s richest businessman G V K Reddy, who established a chain of hotels in the city including Taj Krishna and Taj Residency, besides GVK Mall and is also into various industries like power sector, infrastructure etc.
3. Shriya Bhupal’s mother Shalini Bhupal is GVK’s daughter and was married to Som Bhupal of Wanaparthy province in Mahbubnagar district.
4. Now, Nimmagadda Prasad’s daughter Swathi is getting married to son of G Siva Kumar Reddy, owner of Hyderabad’s biggest five-star hotel ITC Grand Kakatiya at Begumpet.
5. Siva Kumar Reddy, is the son of Srinivasulu Reddy, a prominent industrialist, who married sister of senior Congress leader, Rajya Sabha member and industrialist T Subba Rami Reddy, who has promoted Gayatri Projects. So, Siva Kumar Reddy is nephew of TSR and he is also one of the directors of Gayatri Group.
6. Interestingly, it is the second marriage for both Swathi Nimmagadda and her fiancé. Swathi was married to her family relative Mahesh, while her fiancé was married to the daughter of another prominent industrialist Pratap Reddy of Penna Cements. But, they got divorced to their respective spouses later.
7. For that matter, Nimmagadda Prasad also divorced his wife Asha Bharadwaj (Swathi’s mother) a couple of years ago.
8. While Nimmagadda and Nagarjuna belong to Kamma community, Siva Kumar Reddy and GVK’s family is of Reddy’s. So, both the weddings are of inter-caste.
9. Interestingly, Shriya Bhupal’s brother Krishna Bhupal was originally engaged to Gayatri Reddy, daughter of media baron T Venkattram Reddy of Deccan Chronicle group, but the alliance broke up before the wedding itself. Venkattram Reddy is the nephew of Subba Rami Reddy.
10. Krishna Bhupal is married to Diya, daughter of a prominent Mumbai-based jeweller.
11. Subba Rami Reddy’s daughter Pinky Reddy, a prominent socialite of Hyderabad, is married to Sanjay Reddy, son of G V K Reddy.
12. Pinky-Sanjay’s daughter Mallika is married to Sidharth Indukuri, son of Shyam Prasad Reddy Indukuri, promoter of Indu Projects, a prominent infrastructure group.
13. Nimmagadda Prasad and Shyam Prasad Reddy have been facing CBI charges in connection with the Quid Pro Quo case involving YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
