Ajaatasatru:

do you know of any good resources for SAS ?

I would suggest to attend training from anybody from your city or from online training sites like Edureka etc. That way, you can focus on the course until you get certified.

If you want only free courses, go to SAS.com and start with the following ones-
https://support.sas.com/edu/elearning.html?ctry=us&productType=library

Become a data science and your job is guaranteed 100%.The problem is that many of them don't know the learning path. Get certified by SAS and SAS itself gives you the job if you don't need any kind of visa sponsorship.

alternatively..Learn R,Python and statistics and many jobs are there in financial and insurance industries.

what roles gochi - for tableau business users are developing reports on their own..so what roles on IT side? Admin?

business users emi peekatledhu baaa..developers ey peekaali...ivanni edo marketing strategy appaaa,Self service BI thokka tholu ani..business users max to max excel lo chart chesey badulu, tableau lo chesthaaru...anthe kaani complex joins petti dashboards business users develop cheyyaru...all that work is still being done by IT...

why I say Tableau future is good is, any big data solution you take, people plug and unplug all tools in between except Tableau which always stays as reporting tool of choice...

Gochi:

nobody has an idea what to use where and why they are using these

This is what I hear in the weekend parties who are in BI field...

can someone elaborate what is the current state of BI and the next 5 years

Some things I learned is-

1. Tableau and Qlikview are being used a lot. Tableau especially in the bayarea...

2. The position called Report Developer is being cut from the IT side and business users are developing reports on their own. This I see is very dangerous for the IT report developers in future

3. Hadoop irrational excuberance - everybody bought all the tools but dont know what to do with

please share your experiences
