Actually let me clarify a bit here. The Hadoop path is basics, and online courses do give you that. BUT .. aa individual components unai chusaru ..yes avi chala dynamic ga change avtunai.. but there are pieces that are stable.And those are specifically taught in courses.. and lots of jobs now require you to be handson. Its a kind of irony in India, that the ecosys here has not come in to teach you Hadoop/Bigdata formally, but outsourcing meant that the jbs are here - and hence people are trying hard to pick up stuff.

NRIs shoudl throw more light.. but nenu chuste ee bigdata ecosys is much more mature there. Actually colleges started to offer courses,degrees also ..

thats right.. aa linux env/hadoop admin as you say.. i do feel its powerful but its not kind of something very intensive like a tool,language etc. edo annitiki base platform kinda untune untundi..and u pick up as u go..

i am learning bigdata concepts, and trying to apply R,Matlab,Python onto it.. so andukani hadoop koncham kelika kani.. abbe.. ipudaithe mind lo RAM space ledu.. malla epudaina..

i dont know much detail, but i think Sun certifications untai ankunta for Linux - meant to be authentic. Avi janaalu linkedin lo pettadam chusa. aina enduku mestaru linux toh paatlu .. that is one platform i believe is underrated - and oppur wud b less. Hadoop stack lo dookutunar janam and i see hell lot of potential,$ there..

idi job lo join ayinaaka nerchukovadame anukonta sepearte 'learning' kannaa kuda.

Naa wife Hadoop admin.She says there is nothing you can learn with courses other than the outlines of how a Hadoop process works etc .Because of the vast eco systems around hadoop developed(and still coming into the market), it is difficult to have a particular learning path.

I want to go in to SAS installations and administration. I am also open to Hadoop cluster administration .But, for any of the above jobs, i need to have a good understanding of Linux. As of now,I just have the basic knowledge of moving,copying ,deleting files in Linux(as part of my day to job).So, want to explore more in linux and try to get some kind of certification(to focus on my learning).

ayina nenu ee madhya anni online prep course - coursera,udemy,udacity,pluralsight.. torr lo dincheyadame.. free free freee.. 20 mbps line panikochedi deniki. adi try cheyandi.. i learnt a lot on android,R,Matlab using these.. content is very gud..

How to start with? Any suggestion is appreciated.

Back ground:I am a SAS programmer(with about 6 years experience) now and want to change into administration(SAS/Hadoop etc). My Team lead says that i need to have good knowledge in Linux admin skills for smooth transition to admin kind of jobs.
