I am watching European train YT videos(vlogs) past 2 weeks. Mainly the tunnel ones.

European trains are minimum 280kmph. Not sure when we can get there. Just having trains wont help.

We already have lot of similar trains with no difference to Vandebharat.

so just having a different name doesnt really help.

That is what they are targetting. target speed is 160 kmph. right now tracks are not supporting more than 100 kmph. vande bharat trains vochedaaka ee tracks ni evadu pattinchukoledu. ipudu track meeda focus pettaru.

no way, economics work avavu. China/Japan laga maglev trains eyali to get this done

For all of India's faults, Railways have been the gold standard in quality and price. maglev kosam price increase cheste it'll affect lot of people

Making long trains dont solve the purpose unless the total journey is cut down to 1/2 - 2/3rd.

Indian Railways was always on par in coach and engine manufacturing and designs with any western countries.

The basic track infrastructure is lacking thats the only issue.

trian looks good. Definitely better than regular indian standards. but speed is still on par with other express trians.




I have traveled in Tejas express, Trichy to Chennai and that appeared far better to me than this Vandebharat express.

The food was top class and the service was very good. So far many posted videos of Vande bharat but it didnt seems to be any special to already existing trains except the publicity which is at peaks.

The Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18,[1] is a semi-high-speed, electric multiple-unit train operated by Indian Railways. It was designed and manufactured by the government-owned Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai.

On 27 January 2019, the train service was renamed the Vande Bharat Express to honour the fact that the train was manufactured entirely in India.[2] It was designed with the vision of low-cost maintenance and cost optimization in mind. It began operations on February 15, 2019

Background

The Vande Bharat Express is built on MEMU local train-based EMU technology that was developed in the mid-1950s. MEMU has been manufactured by Integrated Coach Factory for the last 25 years.[4]

Indian Railways was planning to launch new type of MEMU trains which are Train-18 like for inter-city travel

In June 2015, when the Indian Railways put out a request for bids, none of them was good enough, so they decided to go ahead and build it all in India.
