If Drona was alive Pandavas would have never won, he knows many more astra sastras, that his disciples didnt have clue. Moreover Duryodhana made Drona the senapathi with asking him to hand over Bhima alive to him. Arjuna also would never had killed Drona but could have captured him alive. Anyways Bharatam is more complicated than Ramayana..

The original literature is there, but current generation cannot figure out anything from the original. Only apply our logic and believe that this is something happened reading those versions.

There are a few versions and there are quite a few logical reasoning's given. I don't know how we can say one one is right vs another. I too have read these logics (on the internet though) but my basic knowledge is from Amar Chitra Katha.

Exactly, those days Gurus are not like today's gurus. If he had all these qualities in him he would never become an Acharya, which is an highly esteemed position.
A Guru's responsiblity was not only to teach the skill, but also the skill is utilized properly.
BTW there are many versions that inspite of giving away right thumb, he continued and mastered the skill with left hand, but again he went into wrong company of Jarasandha, was trying to join kourava;s and eventually before that, he gets killed in a war with Yadava's where krishna kills him.
Inka original quesstion ki vaste, gochesh comedy gaa cheppina ade correct. He stiches a dog mouth with arrows which was disturbing him while learning the skill. Even Arjuna gets amazed looking at the skill he has done that. But Drona realizing he misused, took away the skill.
Before that, he was a nishada tribal prince, who also wanted to learn from Drona. This tribe is known for more violence and anti-social deeds. So knowing his background, Drona denies him the skill, not based on his caste or tribe. Based on his qualities. He went on to teach Drushtadyumna who eventually killed him, knowing that he would kill him. If he is selfish, he would have stopped teaching to Drushtadyumna too. Anyways Ekalavya still continues on his own and misuses, then he got that taken away.

Also, Ekalavya fought against Krishna in a couple of battles. He was on Jarasandha's side in their battles against Yadavas. Krishna eventually killed him in one of the battles.
