It was the case of all-is-well-that-ends-well for Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi, widow of former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party founder-president N T Rama Rao.

Lakshmi Parvathi, who had threatened to move the court against Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and union minister of state for commerce and industry Daggubati Purandeshwari for ignoring her for the NTR statue unveiling function on parliament premises on Tuesday, got the invitation at the eleventh hour and she made to the function at the last minute.

And she was on cloud nine to be among the dignitaries including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, veteran BJP leader L K Advani, BJP floor leader Sushma Swaraj and others, apart from NTR family members. She even greeted her bête noire and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu with a pleasant face.

After the statue was unveiled, all the NTR family members offered floral tributes to the legendary actor. Lakshmi Parvathi, who could not get access to rose flowers, borrowed some from Naidu and placed them at the feet of NTR statue. Naidu was seen happily sharing flowers with her.

“It was a happy occasion for the all the Telugu people. I am extremely happy to be present at the ceremony on time. And I wished all my children, including Purandeshwari,” a beaming Lakshmi Parvathi said.
