But researchers have found pesticides in the Punjabi farmers' blood, their water table, their vegetables, even their wives' breast milk. So many people take the train from the Malwa region to the cancer hospital in Bikaner that it's now called the Cancer Express. The government is concerned enough to spend millions on reverse-osmosis water-treatment plants for the worst affected villages.

agreed that the show starts with a real incident which is more tragic but he also shows the solutions
which people themselves found...
every episode ends on a positive note...
The show brought into light so many unsung heroes..
1. Dr. Ramkumar from kerala who stopped the endosulphon spray .. can you imagine that the GOVT dumped 22 lac tonnes of endo sulphon for 25 years
and end up screwing up peoples lives.. 5000 people suffered.. the visuals were graphic but they are real.
2. Agricultural scientist from our own AP -- Mohan kumar-- who helped the DWACRA groups and acheived organic farming in over 35 lac acres.
3. How many of u know that pesticide farming is banned in SIKKIM and the whole state is doing organic farming .. by 2015 it will be the first organic state in india. |
