Summary:

Performs testing onlocalized software to ensure the localized software is in accordance with designated development and local practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Works closely with project management, development, translation, internationalization testing, and others as needed. Assists other development team members engaged in testing of localized software.

· Designs, develops, and documents automated testing tools for localization. Validates returns of user interface and documentation strings, investigates unexpected outcomes, and reports problems requiring corrective action.

· Designs, develops, and documents interactive test plans for localization. Tests software products interactively, examining translated strings in the context of software user interfaces and documentation and reporting observed bugs.

· Analyzes test results to verify that existing functionality works as expected after process or string changes.

· Develops summary documents after test completion; provides feedback to translation and development team.

· Reports bugs and verifies fixes made to translation tooling code or string translations that appear in product user interfaces or documentation.

· Discusses technical and design issues with other developers, managers, users or customers when necessary to achieve optimal solution.

· Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks.

· Works with translation, test and development team as necessary to meet corporate, product, and market requirements.

Required Skills:

· Working knowledge of software localization tools, methodologies, and languages

· Thinks analytically and able to effectively communicate problems and fixes

· Programming skills in scripting languages

· Knowledge of two or more operating systems-preferably Mac and Windows

· Possesses interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
Typically requires a minimum of five years of localization experience.
