maa vodu picked computer science, which as andhravodu said, deals with algorithm, and math where you could develop OS, compiler and other stuff.
engineering deals with hardware portion of computer, where its a mix of software + Engineering.
Since my kid is strong in math, and not preferring hardware, got into Computer science.

in my experience the distinction is if you learn discrete math and Operating Systems/compiler design. You'll learn them in Software engineering.
Computer science programs usually teach you basic algorithms, and programming through one or more languages
In this new cloud world, the definitions might have changed a little, I'm not upto date on the latest |
