Kubang:actually if you are math or science teacher in high school its even better.
If you are good at match and statistics and pursue masters in statistics, there are abundant opportunities because of the opportunities in data analysis/science.

I think next big place will be business law... you will not be fighting against robots. You will be using them.

maa ammayi, she wants to be a school teacher when she grows up...ofcourse she is just in 4th grade now, so things might change as she grows up...but if she wants to become a teacher, i will fully support it..after any 4 year bachelors, there is some teacher training course that needs to be done and they need to get a certification to join in school...

in my company , when I compare growth trajectory of people coming from University of British columbia, Vancouver and other similar colleges is US with folks coming from India and doing masters here I feel there is no much difference. |

I have zero expectitions on my kids, all I care is whether they are making enough effort or not.. And put a support system in place so that they are making right effort and setting right goals.
I am not sure if I can even guide my kids knowing that I am so outdated and not knowing how things work here.
All I do is to understand what they are trying to do, help them if they need decision making, giving an example of what I would do in that scenario..

I agree with fanno1 bro. We shouldn't impose our desires on kids, let them do whatever they like. Of course you have to guide them. In my case, I told my elder one to choose among medicine, Engg, law, accounting. I would have really liked if he picked medicine but from day one he is very clear. He don't want to spend 10 years in the Univ so he picked Engg.
