I drove only elantra and impreza so far. will have to test drive and see the others. probably I will eliminate volvo and lexus. Also head room is another important issue, my elder one is 6'3" already. 2 to 3 months lo edo okati konatam khayam. |

Sensation: look at Infiniti G series.
I am looking for a small car rao garu. G is too big. also I really don't need navigation. primarily we will be using in and around city. also only looking at hatchbacks at this point. G class starting vachi $44k ikkada.
Merc vachi $30k. Elantra ayithe $22k. you have to add freight and taxes on top of these numbers. |

If mileage isn't constraint, look at Infiniti G series. If you are going for navigation, try using it. When I stated using it, I felt the one in Lexus is so convenient to use compared to the one in Audi.

all the reviews are very positive for Merc. it's completely revamped and introduced as '13 model. one good thing is that they included lot of features into the base model itself. Yes it is FWD.
I haven't stepped into any of these cars except Elantra and Subaru. Elantra is an excellent car in my opinion.
Volvo C30 is also good but it comes only as a 2 door version. Yes, they have 5 year scheduled maintenance included in the price.
Rear leg room for Lexus is probably lowest among my short list |

Forget about Lexus CT200H. Dont know whether you got a chance to look at the car. It is very inconvenient getting into the car.
Mercedes B250 -- Looks like it is front wheel drive if not all wheel drive. I guess front wheel drive is ok for your weather. Definitely Benz and BMW have superior braking system. I bet if you include options, it will be around 40 K. Generally Benz interior is pretty bad, but heard they are focusing a lot on interior these days.
DOnt even think about Audi.
Make sure you go with the car which has touch screen navigation.
Volvo is generally worthy for your money. I also think they give free service for some time, but dont know for sure. |

A3 is the smallest car in Audi, way too expensive. We get 6% corporate discount with Audi and still it is expensive. |

rao garu, I don't like to stretch too much and hate debt. ee year chaala karchulu vunnayi, elder one going in to the university, bringing my mother for a 6 month stay, later India trip in the fall etc. Plus two weeks ago had to spend $7k suddenly on furnace and hot water tank at home. |
