Overnight Summary -- World markets roller coaster ride continues The global equity markets are mixed. The seesaw environment continued in the US futures overnight. S&P Futures are down about 42 points to trade around the 4360 area. The market was unable to sustain Monday's afternoon bid and saw sellers take control during the early portion of trading. Spoos sank as low as 4328.75 before buyers stepped in shortly after the European trade got underway. The rebound attempt has taken the market to current levels. The overnight high was established early on at 4406.75. In Asia, both China and Japan closed significantly lower. Although these markets held up on Monday, they could not stave off pressure last night. The Shanghai slumped over 2.5% and closed at the low of the day. The Nikkei fell as well, led lower by top constituents SoftBank (-5%) and Tokyo Electron (-3%). The Japanese benchmark finished the session at a five-month low. In Europe, the major bourses are bouncing following yesterday's rout. Credit Suisse is not participating in the rally, falling 3% after the company warned of a net loss for the fourth quarter. Logitech (+9%) is outpacing the indices after the company posted better than expected quarterly results and raised its fiscal-year outlook.
