Not the right way to look at it...compare two things

1) Rent vs non-Principal monthly expenses
2) You will have around 8-10% selling cost, will the appreciation offset it.

Beyond this, there will be life style advantages like more space, typically better looking, garage, backyard etc...how much are these worth is a personal decision.



Agree with you brother. it is entirely wrong perception when you know you have more space, comfort, luxury and peace of mind.
