OK.

For easy calculations:

Scenario1: you have 100K income.
You got to pay mortgage interest 10000.
so, your Gross adjustable income is 90K.30 percent tax is 27000/-.so, moeny in your hand is 63000/-

Scenario22; you paid off your mortgage.Income is 100k tax is 30%
Now, you dont have any mortgage .you got to pay 30,000.net money in your hand is 100,000-30,000= $70,000

I know it is not that simple calcualtion when there are many, many deductions , credits and other tax implications.But, You dont save anything by not paying mortgage.
