Ryan West has had his hand in the Lakers’ draft successes over the last several years, perhaps most notably with his influence in the team selecting Jordan Clarkson with No. 46 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The Sacramento Kings attempted to hire Ryan West away in 2015, but were rebuffed when the Lakers promoted him to his current title of director of player personnel.
