Yes, it’s official. Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion would see the biggest release ever in the history of Indian cinema. The film would be arriving in the upwards of 6000 screens (yes, you read it right) and efforts are still on to bring it closer to the 7000 screens. Never before has a film been released on such huge print count and an arrival like this pretty much places the SS Rajamoli’s war drama on road for a blockbuster start.

“There are close to 5000 screens across the country where Bollywood films run. Add to that 3000 odd further screens in South India where major Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films are released. This brings the total of 8000 screens. With no other film, either in Hindi or other regional languages arriving alongside Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion on April 28, it would practically be the face-off between Prabhas and Rana Daggubati that would find maximum attention in almost all centres of the country,” informs our well-placed source.

Now this is truly unprecedented as even the biggest of Hindi films end up releasing in the 4500-5000 screens at best (including their dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions). On the other hand films down South have not known to exceed 2500-3000 screens on arrival.

“Here, it is just one single film that is being designed to create havoc across the country,” our source adds, “With a budget that is the biggest ever for an Indian motion picture, it was also quite rudimentary that the placement is the biggest ever as well. The wait for knowing ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’ has been pretty agonizing already. More and more people would want to know it on the first day itself, lest the news leaks in today’s fast paced electronic world over social media. Better to let anyone and everyone watch it in theatres soon enough instead of making them wait for long.”

With such a huge arrival, it is pretty much a given that across all the languages, Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion is all set to take the biggest opening ever in the history of cinema.

“Even if the film releases on 6500 screens, there is a capacity available to result in first day collections to the tune of around 60 crore. Considering the fact that April 28 is not a holiday, one cannot expect cent percent collections all over. However, it would still be huge, which means it is a given that Bahubali 2 – The Conclusion would have a first day in excess of Rs. 50 crore at the least. Don’t be surprised if numbers turn out to be even bigger since never before has a film seen a pan-India release on such a lavish scale. Expect fireworks on the film’s arrival and further havoc being created over the weekend,” our trade guru adds.

Now this would pretty much turn out to be a Baahubal-ian start for the most anticipated film of 2017 so far.
