From my previous experience, Labor won't have any A number, you will get that only after applying for I140. Labor is employer petition for that specific position. In the past they used to substitute labors filed for one person to other. Now they made those things strict or eliminated completely. So you may not have any proof for labor petition filing other than believing your employer and attorney. You can check with your other friends if they got any receipt when labor filed before arguing with your employer.
