nenu konnadi road bike and I wanted to do the 200km ride (for cancer) but unfortunately I had to drop the plan because of my neck issues.

nenu konnadi (of course returned) Norco Valence and cost was close to $2k all-in.

anyway, if you are only looking to test and find if you like that routine or not then don't spend too much. you will get very decent bikes for around $1k if the purpose is light training and recreational.

basically cost dependent on two things, frame material and the type of gear. Aluminum costs cheaper than full carbon. Shimano is the best for gear and it has a range of levels, try to get decent gear once you picked the frame. getting the right size bike is very important and I advice to go to a bike store and get the right fit first. they do it for free..
