First of all, hinduism is liberal, but it doesnt mean that you can customize it deviating from what has been defined in vedas or puranas. @nalla balu: You are right, Ring doesnt have any religios value in christianity, like wise, neither Thali has in hindusim Let me tell you the significance. Thali is like a protection to women, its a kind of communciation that sends out to the society that this particualr woman in married and is protected. As a matter of fact, in hindu marriages jeelakarra bellam is more significant than thaali. But in due course, it was made a custom which makes sense. Another point, there are so many errors in implementaiton of hindusim, it doesnt mean that there is something wrong with religion, its just the way we are implementing is wrong...
