I'll give you my opinion on this. Some of my feelings have been also voiced by Bestboy and others (though they are not exactly the same). Firstly, I am not a big fan of Nehru. I have always been a history buff and from whatever I read I came to some conclusions. I never perceived Nehru to be an able leader. He was a freedom fighter no doubt like many others. He was like a spoiled brat to some extent. As a freedom fighter his intentions were noble and brave. I can't disagree with that but he wanted to be the leader of free India and kind of manipulated Mahatma Gandhi to that extent. Read about Jinnah and Nehru's politics and you will get more information there. Read about why India got divided on religious grounds. How the British played politics to the last day and used this power struggle to mess up the division. Read more about Kashmir and China to see if you can find any faults in Pandit Nehru's administration. All in all, Netaji is a martyr and is one of the most respected freedom fighters along with Nehru and Gandhi. He did not get his due from the Indian government because of Congress rule. But, this is one area where I am also not completely satisfied with my deductions. Even BJP has not revealed much about him which makes me wonder if he did something which is a national embarrassment. But this is a conspiracy theory on which we can all speculate. We will always have opinions on this subject till something is revealed. Be Positive! |
