World Markets Update: All the fireworks are in the energy markets

US equity futures are little changed after Independence Day weekend in which 49 states had fully reopened economies/businesses. The weekend saw more air travel than Independence Day of 2019. Congress will be off this week, but infrastructure and other spending talks will continue when they return.
OPEC+ held a meeting yesterday and failed to reach any agreement amid tension between Saudi Arabia and UAE. Oil prices have surged to a 6-year high.
Asia markets were mixed. Bloomberg reports that Chinese President Xi will have a video call with European leaders this week.
In Europe, markets were mostly lower.
