Japan was pummeled by 3%. In Japan, the Nikkei saw broad based selling throughout the day. Just as the Nasdaq was hit hard in the US, Japanese tech stocks suffered the same fate. Tokyo Electron and Advantest led semiconductors lower with a fall of 4-6%. Meanwhile, market heavyweight, SoftBank, witnessed a decline of nearly 7%.
