$alpp dd from pakka db //Catalyst: While Kent Wilson has tried for years to promote his ideas about synergistic companies and vertical integration, the stock was not doing well. Recently they completed the merger/acquisition of Impossible Aerospace, a company founded by ex-Tesla battery engineer Spencer Gore. IA itself has been around for a few years, working towards the production of a high-end US-centric drone to target the defense forces, fire and police departments as customers. IA has as investors Bessemer Venture Partners and since 2018 EADS, the group behind Airbus. I see this match between a vertical integration supporter and a high growth sector such as high-end drones as a perfect match - not much different conceptually from Steve Jobs bidding his time and keeping Apple afloat until the smartphone came along..... Thesis: Tesla and SpaceX are examples of vertical integration businesses that have reached "escape velocity" - what I mean by that is that every new initiative/product they launch, they leverage their existing assets and processes in a synergistic manner, giving them short time to market and superior economies of scale. I am adding here Apple in a larger sense as well, and this trade idea is about companies that pursue a vertical integration model by design and try to achieve similar dominance in their respective fields. his catalyst and thesis on the $ALPP.... ee sodantha enduku ante kooda okay// |
