They have no say on any recruiting.

aadu meeto matladina pay gurthu kooda undadu. The main mistake they do is they know how much the company can pay to employee before even getting resumes.

They think they can negotiate between you and others. but mostly it doesn't happen that way.

In your case I think the company might have a very low salary scale and you might have not been close to what they want so they didn't negotiate with you.

Instead picked someone in that range.

Most of the times more than skill, the money matters. I have done that during my recruitment days.

I was selected after the interview. confirmed now. hopefully nothing goes wrong due to this market.
