Another experience: Actually, this was my first interview after I got laid off. The job is entirely different technologies than what I worked on before. Since I want to move into a separate line of tech, I learned Linux, Python, SQL in a real quick and changed entire resume(by keeping my names of the employer and the projects) and submitted it. Honestly, I did not alter the resume to get more salary. My idea at that time was, "Let's start a new phase in the career and move into the latest technologies. Stage1: Recruiter interview: Went well and submitted to the hiring manager Stage2: Three different managers with technical skills: Linux, Python, Database, cloud concepts Anni cleared(even though I got tensed because of new technology) I got a call from the recruiter. Recruiter: "What's your expected salary?" Kodiboch: "I think we already discussed this before submitting my resume." Recruiter: "let me check.yeah. I got the number, but the hiring manager wants to confirm with you. I will talk to you later." Result: Got an email from the recruiter saying that "We are moving forward with other candidates". I did not understand the whole process. My questions at the time were- (1)did the hiring manager liked me or not with my technical skills? (2)If not, why the recruiter called again and asked me about my expected salary? (3)If yes, why they moved forward with other candidates? (4)why did the recruiter ask about my expected pay even after we agreed upon the salary number? (3)Where did I go wrong in the whole process? |
