earlier, like 20 years back there was a restriction from the forest department, that public should not grow these themselves n they were only wildly grown in the forests, n the govts made money of it...but the govt lifted this restriction and said, everybody can grow red sandal, srigandham where ever they want n sell it away..

public still has lots of confusion regarding this if its still legal or not...
