I am seeing my son in my shoes when I was undergrad, I did in my town, and I got National merit scholarship that covered my 4 years tuition, and since I stayed local no cost to my parents. I didnt want to end up taking loan or my parents getting to debt, Now same thing with my son, he is National Merit finalist too, getting free education locally, He will end up paying like 5-7K per year if he chooses to be in dorm He might not think what I was thinking at the same age.
