No grid is totally reliable with renewables, believe me I am quite familiar with the segment. Even CA won’t be there any time soon. I lead $3B worth renewable development and currently involved in offshore wind development. At present not even 10% of the total generation comes from renewables at global level. It’s long ways to get there. Unless there is a step change in battery technology it’s impossible to have a stable grid without fossil fuels, period. Ignorance is bliss
