its unfair to compare Dammu to guage his abilities since that was the first movie he made without he writing the story...all his movies made so far have been based on the stories he composed rather than directing somebody else written stories...that was a major drawback in his case...he was highly disappointed when jr rejected his multiple stories and he had almost given up on directing this venture until jr jumped out of excitement listening to this story - DAMMU...rest is hi-story...
