Is now ranked 9th in the list of top 25 greatest film composers in Cinema history of the world.

You probably see this coming after our greatest cinematographer list last week, we just have to make a film composer list to go with that one.

Music is possibly the most under-appreciated aspect of a film and unless we really listen for it, most of us go unaware of just how much music can make or break a moment, scene or even an entire film. Sometimes the score even transcends the film itself, and becomes a culture symbol of its own. We “see” the film in our heads when we hear the scores, because the image always goes hand in hand with the music.

To celebrate their achievements in film score, we have listed the 25 most important composers in the history of film
