Answer: Michael is definitely involved with Nasar and notifies nasar of mahesh's travel plans and his arrival in london. So when the accident occurs, michael thinks that it's the plot by Nasar and he disappears. Level 2 of the same question: Does Nasar really need michael to know about mahesh's plans of travelling to london knowing that he himself helps mahesh to travel to london to solve the mystery? Nasar could have done this through third party spies but may be he doesn't want mahesh to know that he's getting followed. Some cinematic liberty is taken here( Not sure if sukumar thought about level 2 of the question )
