VK mama this is mainly for attaching of oneself to any karma, the moment one attaches and does perform any action, he is bound to the paapa/punya of it. As long you are not attached, this is kind of nuetral that one will not get influenced with the effect of that karma, there by one can reduce the count. Basic gaa you attain realization, when paap/punya count is 0. So this non-attachment is what Krishna says, to liberate ourself from the effect of ones own karma..
