I am a Nikonian...nenu kooda baane thagalesaa SLR's meedha....I started with D5000 with 18-55 & 55-200 lenses...then I bought 70-300mm for zoom...aa 70-300 banda baruvu undedhi...oka 2 years ayyaaka D5000 and all lenses trade in chesi I got D7000 with 18-105 plus 55-300 lens...plus separate flash ki oka 200, tripod, camerabags, SD cards, Remote for clicking, lens cloth thokka tholu antoo baane doola theerchukunnaa...overall gaa oka 3k thagalesunta that too because I went with less expensive models..

asalu starting ey 5D mark III ante thadisi muddhavuddi thokkesh...aaa 5D initial cost kaaka ki malli aa kwality ki saripadaa lenses konaalante okkokati 1k-2k dollars each untaai...

so start with a medium priced decent SLR...build up your lenses and then slowly upgrade to the best body....body will depreciate very fast...lenses value will not...My suggestion is go with Canon 60D or the best case Canon 70D,not higher than that...eee models in India/Europe lo emantaaro thelavadhi..and go with 18-135mm lens....60d/70d with 18-135 is more of prosumer cameras..a step above consumer and step below professional...then get one additional flash...u will be more than happy
