In the West, Studies consistently show that the richer a child's parents are, the more likely the child is to do well in school, so of course if poorer students start taking the SAT the scores will drop. (wealthier parents can better afford to help their children when they fall behind with extra schooling, and tend to put more effort into making their kids do well in school, that's why richer children tend to do better in school according to the studies)
