On one side we have Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Jackie Chan, Bernard Marcus (Home Depot), Pierre Omidyar (Ebay), Michael Bloomberg, etc who are giving a majority of their earnings to charity and leaving very little for their children. On the other side we have our politicians, and businessmen who by hook or crook want to amass billions for themselves by illegal means.

Right now practically speaking yes Indian society is very money minded right now and very narrow in outlook ( generalization avvochu but charity is more in Usa numbers wise )
