>>Even as Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to steer wheel in the yet-to-be-formed Federal Front or Third Front, he has got a competitor from Andhra Pradesh.

Now, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao has announced that his party would play a major role in the national politics in the coming days.

KCR said his party was already in touch with the national leaders proposing to launch the Federal Front.

“We have appointed senior leader K Kesava Rao as the chairman of party’s national affairs committee. He is holding talks with Trinamul Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee with regard to our role in the Federal Front,” KCR said.

Kesava Rao was earlier Congress party in-charge of the West Bengal affairs and was instrumental in bringing Mamata Banerjee to the fold of the UPA.

Now, he would take the initiative on behalf of the TRS to consolidate the Federal Front.

The TRS, which hopes to win at least a dozen MP seats, would be an important player in the Federal Front and the TDP, which may not win even a single digit in the parliamentary elections, would have to play a second fiddle to the TRS.
