Who is responsible for the victory of the Congress party in Karnataka? Well, everybody says it is the anti-incumbency factor that worked against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the people were left with no alternative but to vote the Congress party to power.

But, there is one group within the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh which gives all the credit to union minister for tourism and megastar Chiranjeevi for the party’s victory in Karnataka.

For, the Congress party had won in all the constituencies, barring a couple of constituencies, where Chiranjeevi campaigned during the electioneering. He had covered as many as 25 assembly constituencies bordering Andhra Pradesh, besides in key constituencies like Bangalore. And the Congress has won majority of them.

“The Chiranjeevi charisma had a greater impact on the Karnataka polls. He drew huge crowds to his road shows and public meetings. Having seen the response in the first phase of campaign, Congress president Sonia Gandhi sent him to the electioneering for a second time. It was a mega show,” a Congress leader from Andhra argued.

May be, it would help Chiranjeevi stake claim for the CM post in AP in the next elections!
