The film collected PKR 1 crore (Rs 56.4 lakhs) on it’s opening day at the box office, making it the highest single day grosser in the neighbouring country and the first film to cross PKR 1 crore in a single day. Dabangg 2 surpassed the opening day collections of Jab Tak Hai Jaan - PKR 93 lakhs (preview shows on Thursday + Friday) and Aamir Khan’s Talaash, which collected PKR 90 lakhs on November 30th. Dabangg 2 was Salman Khan’s first release of the year in Pakistan, as Ek Tha Tiger was banned by the censor board for its depiction of Pakistani intelligence operatives.
