Shinde Calls KCR Bluff, No T-Talks Now

Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Wednesday virtually punctured the balloon of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao on the ongoing talks with the Centre on the Telangana statehood issue.

He told the media in New Delhi that no talks had been held with KCR on the Telangana issue in the past and nor would be any further talks on the issue in the near future. He made it clear that the Centre had no immediate plans to hold any all-party meeting on the Telangana issue.

“I have not held any talks with KCR. However, the Centre is continuing the consultation process and I cannot say when this process will be completed,” Shinde said.

The union home minister, thus, virtually called bluff the TRS president’s tall claims that he had held fruitful talks with the Central leaders on the Telangana issue and that the final round of talks would be held any time this month. “Dasara or Deepavali won’t be any deadline to decide on the Telangana issue,” Shinde added.
