The parameters compared looks somewhat silly to me. North Americans love everything that is BIG :-). Food portions; Mobile bills (Canada protects its home grown mobile companies, else US giants would eat them alive); Secured shopping; Local Produce (had seen lots of pride in made in Canada goods aka made in USA)ee parameters looks very silly for comparision in my opinion.

Canada is not bad. They are little conservative as compared to their big brother (US).

Few things I dont really liked in Canada are unionization, its prevalent - Unions take you for a ride, lots of strikes (similar to India). High taxation - boy the govt. robs you day time. I would love to pay for my Health Insurance if it reduces my tax burdens. Lots of freebies from Govt. - I observed lots of people misusing them. I saw my neighbors living comfortably on Govt. schemes than ever going to work!

Never been to down under though! The closest I came to is lived in Singapore for 4 months.
