over the weekend I had a different experience. We went to an egagement party, and the function was fine. However this was a different experience as we know the couple were living togather past few months, they were living like a couple past couple of years. Now it has become a formality for parents to make if official to their families that they are getting married as if this is all arranged marriage. They did the engagement now in India, asked them to have similar function here. Marriage is planned in August. For me the questions, are why do people have to waste time and money in doing all these stuff, when they are doing everything already. Why people are hypocrat to society? As they are doing whatever they want irrespective of what other think, Why do they need marriage as per Indian tradition as the tradition itself is now a mockery. Why cant they just go ahead and do a register marriage and get away with it? I couldnt enjoy the function as it all appeared as drama...I didnt feel comfortable when Indian traditions used for their convenience without any belief in them,,, what do you guys feel?
