You could make a case that if Federer had switched with Sampras and played primarily in the '90s, he would have won more than his current 16. You could also say that if Agassi switched with Nadal and was playing in the 2000s he would have won more than eight.
And If Pistol Pete was playing now, he would not have won seven Wimbledons.
One could also speculate that the H2H between Federer and Nadal would have been different had their rivalry been in the 1990s, with faster surfaces.
