Its a high risk high reward deal for Mavs. Looks like they are going to give a max or close to max deal for Porzi before seeing him play a game after missing more than an year. The injury risk of 7 feet 3 inch players is not good even before this deal. This deal completely erases all the Phil Jackson mistakes...including the blunder by Phil in not drafting Dennis Smith Jr. Knicks also dumped 2 bad contracts...that would have taken first round picks in 20s to get rid of. Now, the have 75 Million in cash...if they get 2 stars like KD+Kawhi or Kyrie in free agency...they are instant contenders with Dennis Smith, Kevin Knox, Frank Nklikina and 2019 top-5 pick all on rookie deals.
